Hi all! I hope you’re having a wonderful start to the week so far and enjoying a nice autumn breeze on top of the disgusting heat that still manages to creep through the atmosphere until mid-November. Just wanted to give you an update on some scheduling and housekeeping.
The infamous Monday Letter—the cornerstone of Top Shelf, Low Brow—is moving to Tuesdays! To be honest with you, not being able to have a consistent output for the Monday editions on Mondays has really been weighing on me. I like getting things to you when I say they’ll be there! During the genesis and the first few months of this newsletter’s existence, Mondays were a perfect fit for both my own scheduling and the nature of these letters themselves. However, as time has gone on and I’ve settled into my day job’s very strange schedule, it has become more difficult to find time on the weekends to construct the Monday letter (I work Sat./Sun. until 6pm and then have copious amounts of television to catch up on). I’ve been attempting it, but the letters that have come out on Mondays have been more rushed and not as long, comprehensive, and fun as I want them to be. And you know I can’t bear to bring you anything less than my best!
Having a little more time to complete these editions and sending them out on Tuesdays will align with my schedule in a much more stable fashion. Yes, I feel awful because I hate change and because shifting a letter that’s a recap of the past week to a random weekday feels…strange. But it’ll be good! It also allows more time for events to happen on slow weeks when no celebrities or pop culture figures are brave enough to do anything worthy of the Top Shelf, Low Brow rating treatment.
As always, I thank you all for staying with me for this long and for being avid, incredible readers. You all light up my life and make this job so, so fun. I can’t believe in December it’ll be one year of TSLB. This newsletter is part of what keeps me sane and is my constant reminder that this is truly what I love to do and something I’m continuing to work towards doing professionally full-time. Hopefully soon, that day will come.
Until then, I love you. The first Tuesday Letter will be out tomorrow! I hope you enjoy it. 💖
